Healthy Habits for Healthier Looking Skin

Hey Guys! Hope you are all hanging in there… hopefully we’ll get our freedom day soon. Why not give this post a read all about healthy habits for healthier looking skin.

There are all kinds of ways to improve the appearance of your skin. You could buy cosmetic and skincare products from your local store, with a special focus on those that would give you a youthful, glowing complexion. You could also consider facelift surgery if you are experiencing (or are worrying about) the effects of premature skin ageing. These are both effective solutions but you can also make a difference to your skin by getting into good habits. These include the following.

#1: Wear sunscreen when out in the sun

You should start to feel energised and happier when out in the sun but you do need to take care. The sun’s powerful UV rays can damage your skin’s elastic and collagen tissue, and this can lead to premature skin ageing. Sagging skin, wrinkles, and age spots are just some of the side effects of too much skin exposure. Some of these issues can be prevented when you apply the appropriate factor sunscreen, however, so never leave home without it.

#2: Drink lots of water

Experts recommend 8 eight-ounce glasses of water a day so you should make the effort to hydrate yourself accordingly. Water keeps your skin hydrated, improves elasticity, and flushes out the toxins that could result in acne breakouts on your skin. Make sure you get your daily quota then and avoid those drinks that could damage your skin, including excess amounts of alcohol and sugary pop.

#3: Eat healthily

You already know that healthy eating is a must, for all kinds of health-related reasons, but did you know that the food you eat can affect your skin too? There are all kinds of skin-friendly foods that should be added to your diet, including those that contain antioxidants and essential vitamins, so be sure to add them to your meal plan. Then avoid the foods that will age your skin and cause acne breakouts, such as anything that is deep-fried or overloaded with sugar.

#4: Cleanse your skin before going to bed

Your skin collects dust and dirt throughout the day along with sweat and remnants of the makeup you wear. If you don’t cleanse your skin before going to bed, you will lie in the oils and dirt that has accumulated and increase the risk of damage to your skin. Acne breakouts, enlarged pores, and the early onset of wrinkles are just some of the issues you might experience. So, no matter how tired you are before going to bed, use a face cleansing wipe on your skin to remove any problem particles. You can also do this throughout the day, especially when your face becomes overly sweaty or sticky.

#5: Find ways to de-stress

How you de-stress is up to you, but choose sensible options, and make them a habit on a daily basis. You could learn how to meditate, for example, or you could practice deep breathing exercises at regular intervals throughout the day. Exercise is another way to de-stress but this should be something you should be regularly doing anyway. By doing any of these things, you will do much to protect your skin. Stress hormones won’t affect your collagen levels and you will reduce the risk of fine lines if you have no reason to frown during the day.

By getting into these healthy habits, for healthier-looking skin. I hope you can consider my suggestions and start to apply them to your life today.

These are all great tips! After years, I can see very easily when I don’t drink enough as my skin gets dull no matter the amount of skincare you try to put on! Also, SPF and cleansing are so so important! x

Destressing is definitely one of the most important factors when it comes to skincare – I’m pretty sure that my spots are down to stress 😬 Wearing SPF is something I’ve been trying to get more used to. Nice tips 🙂 x

So true! These are good habits for a healthy skin. Btw, sunblock is not only for outdoors ya. You must also use it indoors. Especially if your work station is under a bright light.

One thing I do forget to do is cleanse before I go to bed, that’s something I need to get back into the habit of doing! I also drink plenty of water during the day and SPF is so important for healthier skin! x

Yesss to all of these. SPF is soo important, I annoy everyone because I constantly talk about it but it is super important. Also, when I don’t drink enough water my skin shows me straight away!

Putting on sunscreen is so important! I started to really focus on skincare a few years ago and now I can’t leave the house without it on. And cleansing your skin before bed is always a must! Thanks for sharing these tips.

I’ve got to make sure I do my cleansing before bed as I’ve got a bit lazy about that — thanks for the reminder!
