Hey Guys! Hope you are all still hanging in there and doing well. As we get closer to lockdown ending (hopefully) I definitely feeling more positive about the sense of reality resuming with some kind of normality. Anyway, it’s now March and Mothers Day is slowly creeping up on us. Do you have any nice zoom calls planned, distanced afternoon teas or just a chit chat with your Mum? This post is all about the Barista Box – the box was kindly gifted to me as part of this review.
During lockdown, I don’t know about you but I’ve been missing seeing friends over a coffee for a chit chat. So that is where the Barista Box comes in handy! A great concept coffee subscription box which you can get delivered directly to your door for those zoom coffee mornings. The blended coffees are made from South American coffee beans and roasted in Italy. The Barista Box has two selected coffees to choose from or you can even give their Tasting Barista Box a try.
There are a number of Gift Boxes or Subscriptions you can choose from at Barista Box, including:
- Libertine Monthly Subscription
- Barista Box
- Blend & Brew Monthly Subscription
- Little Taster Coffee Box
- Liberty Gift Set
- Mixed Coffee Monthly Subscription
- Coffee Tasting Box
As well as the selected giftboxes and subscription you can also purchased one off bags of coffee if you fancy trying one of the coffees – it’s a great way to experience them before committing to the subscriptions.
Libertine coffee is one of the two selected coffees featured within Barista Box. The Libertine Coffee is a predominant Brazilian arabica bean which gives the coffee a rich, smooth and sophisticated flavour. This blend of coffee bean is slowly roasted in Naples and needs 3 days to rest before being packaged.
The Aromas as soon as I opened the pouch was amazing.. literally fell into a coffee coma – I know this morning coffee would be just like the coffee shop variants. I popped the beans into the cafetiere, boiling water and let it brew for a few minutes before pouring the coffee into the cup. WOW, the Libertine coffee blend is a very smooth tasting coffee with a lovely strong aroma to it. I have to say it’s quite a strong coffee so perfect for the morning pick me up.
Blend & Brew Coffee
Blend & Brew is normally a coffee shop however COVID has prevented them opening for people to sit down and enjoy their brews. Based in Brighton, Blend & Brew have teamed up as one of the selected coffee found within Barista Box. The premium coffee, a blend of Brazilian, Preuvian and Costa Rican arabica beans delivers a complex and delightful flavour.
Just like the Libertine Coffee, the aroma is breathtaking! I love the smell of coffee… it’s a fact. The rich and smooth taste is neatly complied with a smokey sort of edge which would work perfectly as an espresso. I am more of a black coffee drinker, however I am definitely going to give the espresso a go one morning. I’ll let you all know how good it is.
Overall, the Barista Box is a fab concept which has been created with coffee lovers in mind. However its also a fab idea for newbie coffee drinkers to try something a little bit more ‘up market’ for their first cuppa. I haven’t been a coffee drinker for too long (just never fancied it) working from home has allowed me to try new things and coffee has been one of them.
Firstly, both coffees have the most amazing strong aromas compared to your classic Nescafe or Douwe Egberts. Both Libertines and Brew & Blend have a very strong smooth taste, which is perfect in every way. Whether you are a cappuccino lover or a espresso shotter both would taste perfect. Ultimately, my favourite was the Brew & Blend purely for the smokey edge to it. The taste is incredible.
