Blogger swap with Steff

Hey Guys, I am doing something a little different over on my blog today! I am doing a collaboration post with the amazing Steff from Steff’s Journey. We have decided to do an blogger swap post, so make sure you read my interview over on Steff’s blog! And enjoy reading the questions I asked steff.

Hey! Welcome back, this time it’s a blogger post swap with Emma from Life of Emma x. You can read my answers to her questions below, and click here to read her answers to mine! Grab yourself a cuppa or whatever else you fancy and enjoy!

What was your motivation to start your blog?

I needed somewhere to brain dump, basically! I felt like my head was getting full up with too much information and thoughts. So, I decided a blog was the best way to get rid of some of the stuff clogging up my head!

How did you come up with the name ‘Steff’s Journey’ and would you ever change this in the future?

I already had my Instagram account with that handle so I decided to stick with that. The name came about when I decided I wasn’t going to follow Slimming World anymore. It used to be slimming_steff or something but I changed it when I realised they’re all a con. If you’re interested, I wrote more about it in this post. So, I changed it to Steff’s Journey as it’s more about my journey through life instead of just being about losing weight.

How long was Steff’s Journey in the pipeline before you made the big step to publish your blog?

About 5 minutes! I had the idea pop into my head one day when I was at work, and I googled how to start a blog. Next thing I know, I had a blog! I am SO glad I did it now, it’s opened up a whole new world to me. Blogging takes up so much of my spare time now. I can’t even remember what I used to do beforehand now!

If you could change one thing you’ve seen or heard within the blogging community that you didn’t/don’t like what would it be, and why?

One thing that really grinds my gears is the follow/unfollow game that these fully grown adults play! Grow TF up and follow the people whose feeds actually interest you! Don’t follow if you don’t like, people will be less offended. Trust me! There is nothing more annoying and frustrating than trying to grow your follower numbers, thinking you’ve hit them one day, then waking up to find you’ve been unfollowed. Who even has the time to do that anyway!?!

How do you see you blog progressing and what are your blog goals for the next 5 years?

In an ideal world, I’d love my blog to be my main source of income but realistically, I think I’ll still be working in admin. I really enjoy it so hopefully I’ll have progressed into some kind of management role. But blog-wise, I’d like to be earning a bit from it, in some shape or form. However, I don’t know how much time I’ll be able to invest in my blog with more work responsibilities so we’ll see!

If you could pick one photo which describes your blog (attach pic) which one would it be, and can you give me a little background behind the pic?

Oh gosh! I am so rubbish at things like this! It’s like the ‘Give 5 words that describe your blog’ question in the Blogger Post Swap with Em lol! So, I think this photo represents my blog best because what you see/read is what you get. I don’t pretend to be someone I’m not when I’m writing and I don’t sugar coat anything! I don’t really have a niche as I want to write about anything I choose, so basically, this is who I am!

Hope you enjoyed reading our blogger post swap, don’t forget to go and check out Emma’s answers as well!

I couldn’t agree more with the follow/unfollowing. When I see people engaging in those kind of games I can’t help but feel disheartened by how much some people think their follow count is important over them and value it like it’s actual money. It just reeks unauthencity and materialism. Anyway always awesome to look a little bit of a blogger’s backstory!

Aw I really like steff’s blog! These were some great questions – I agree about the following and unfollowing! I’ve stooped to a petty level and have an app that tell me whose unfollowed so I can unfollow them too. I don’t want to play that game. If you’re only following me to get more followers, then your content isn’t worth my time… too petty?

Love this post – it’s great getting to know bloggers better! I agree that follow/unfollow is really immature!

I’m with you in hating the follow/unfollow game! I have an app that tells me who’s unfollowed me and honestly it’s crazy how many of the same accounts follow and unfollow you. I love the photo you chose at the end and that you said that you’re just being you on your blog! 🙂 x

Always interesting getting to know a bit about fellow bloggers. I agree with follow/unfollow nonsense, it’s just a bit pathetic really.
