Hey Guys, how are we nearly in March already? My main focus this year is being healthier, fitness is something I’d love to enjoy more. At the beginning of the year I set myself a target… I may reveal more later in the post. It’s a little personal target to encourage me to become healthier.
There are a lot of different ways to become healthier, whether you set yourself a weight target, looking to tone up or even clearing your mind. Hopefully this post will help you, if you are stuck in a rut! Or maybe enlighten you to do something you’d never thought of doing.
Top tips for a healthier lifestyle
I never thought of trying smoothies as a meal substitute as I was always thought I’d still be hungry. I hear and see a lot about shakes online buy again – thought they weren’t for me.
Then I stumbled across “The Honestly Good Smoothie” company. I was kindly gifted 5 smoothies to try! They came in a big box, the pouches are frozen so you can pop them straight into the freezer. They make the perfect breakfast alternative, well that’s when I decide to have mine. Just pop the ingredients from the pouches into the blend – I added a little milk, but you could use an alternative such as almond milk or soya milk. They have 18 varieties to choose from online. I am sure they will be a few which take your fancy, and all ingredients are 100% organic.
I’ve never been much of a reader, a lot of my friends are always starting a new book. So after a couple of book recommendations I took the plunge… reading is a great way to switch off for half an hour. Leave you phone on the side and take time out. It also helps stimulate your brain as you take in the words and story line.
I am currently reading “HAPPY” written by Fearne Cotton. It’s such a good thoughtful read about finding joy and the importance of happiness in our lives. Mental health and having a healthy mind is ever more important in today’s society. I try and read a couple of times away this also allows me “phone off” time which I believe is very important.
Fitness is probably an obvious choice to a healthier lifestyle but it can come in different forms. For example the people who want to gain more measure will work out at the gym, where as someone trying to stay healthy would opt for a long weekly walk. Fitness doesn’t have to involve a gym. Why not try home yoga, or work outs in your living room?
I’ve started to get back into swimming, I love the water – pretty sure I could swim before I could walk! Again swimming isn’t for everyone, but why not set a goal… 100 press ups a week? To walk 2miles on a Sunday morning? Something achievable which will help towards a healthier lifestyle.
Your health and mental well being is key throughout any time of the year, however also making sure you are up together with tests which you may need to take. Being proactive with Womens Health checks, and visiting the sexual health websites if you feel you may be infected. The STD Check website has good collateral to put your mind at ease! Don’t forget if you find out you do have one, I am sure you won’t be alone! But always make sure you tell the person you’ve last been involved with… It’s only fair!
