William Shakespeare Day

Hello! The post heading may have given it away a little bit, but today is National William Shakespeare Day! A lovely day to remember the guy who taught us about theatre, how to love, how to deal with betrayal but most of all how to use words to express ourselves.

William Shakespeare died on 23rd April 1616 in Stratford Upon Avon – if you’ve never been I’d highly recommend a visit to his home town.

In preparation for William Shakespeare I received a lovely gifted parcel from Viking Direct. The parcel* included;

• Cartridge Paper

• Coloured Paper

• Gold Photo Frame

• Silk Flower Petals

• William Shakespeare Quote

• Scrabble Letters

• Red Feathered Calligraphy Pen

• Ink Well

• Romeo and Juliet Tea

It was lovely to receive all these wonderful creative items to celebrate Shakespeare day!

I created a little piece which is a William Shakespeare quote from Romeo and Juliet. I was going to create a text with the calligraphy pen, but I didn’t realise it didn’t come with ink! (Whoops) but I will show you more of my creations once I’ve purchased the ink.

Williams Shakespeare is a profound theatre writer and I am lucky enough to have visited his “home” at the Globe theatre, London. I always wonder how amazing it would of been to have seen the plays back in the 15th century. Like myself, I am sure you would of studied one of William Shakespeare’s plays as part of English Literature at school. I studied The Tempest, but always wished I had studied Macbeth!

If you know a budding English Fan… this would make a FAB gift, it’s funny 😂

Happy Shakespeare day! If you get a chance why not pick up one of his reads and enjoy the art of Shakespeare.

    Wow, this looks like such an awesome bundle of stationery goodies! Yay for stationery! I haven’t read any William Shakespeare since my school days but the YOLO Juliet books looks funny, I’d love to give it a read. Thanks for sharing Emma, and Happy Shakespeare Day! <3 xx
