The Bell Inn, New Forest – Tapas Night

Last week myself and Molly were invited to The Bell Inn, New Forest for their tapas night! The invite was kindly gifted by the lovely PR staff at The Bell Inn .

I hadn’t had tapas for a while, well other than a little platter I had late last summer! So I was very excited to experience the Tapas Night and also to try the food menu at The Bell Inn. I’ve always heard good reviews, but had personally never tried any of their food before.

Tapas Night

On the night we arrived about 6:45pm ready for a 7pm start for the Tapas Night. Me and Molly grabbed a Diet Coke from the cosy bar and sat in comfy seats – whilst having a catch up. There was a lovely atmosphere within the bar as everyone was arriving for the evening.

We were shown to our table, in a lovely room with 7 other tables who had booked the Tapas Night.

The menus were already on the table, which outlined the array of tapas dishes which were being served throughout the evening.

To Start

We started off with the Rustic Bread & Ham, Cheese and Olives platter. The bread was like the proper bread you get from the bakery, crusty on the outside and fluffy in the middle. I LOVED the ham and cheeses, they were very complimenting and tasty. Molly had the olives… I am not a huge fan!

The staff were very friendly, and after each dish made sure we were ok. They handed around the complimentary Mojito, which was perfect.

The next dishes we had were the Potata Bravos which came with a yummy spicy tomato salsa dip! Along with the Oxtail Croquettes and Garlic Prawns (my fave!!). I’d never had oxtail before, so was a bit unsure what to expect. But it tastes like a drier version of chicken. I ended up dipping the croquettes in the tomato salsa, as I found it a little dry.

The meatballs and Spanish omelette were the final tapas dishes… the meatballs were AMAZING! The tomato sauce was fully of vibrant flavour and really complimented the meatballs. Along with the mini omelettes which again, were full of flavour.

You cannot have tapas without having a dessert! And I was really looking forward to the Churros and Chocolate sauce. And it definitely did not disappoint, we were even given a mini Creme Brûlée (which I loved). It was a great end to a lovely evening.

It is safe to say, that we were stuffed by the end!! But one of the lovely managers, took us for a tour of the venue. The rooms were lovely and it’s even next to a golf course (if that’s your sort of thing!)

The Bell Inn, Tapas Night was a lovely event full of fantastic food and tasteful Mojitos. I’d highly recommend checking out their next event – an Easter special. Along with booking a stay in their homely rooms, in the heart of the New Forest.

Thank you for the wonderful experience, and hopefully we’ll be back soon!

I’d love to visit a tapas restaurant, mainly because I’m so indecisive when it comes to deciding what I want to eat from a menu! Great post and lovely recommendation, I’ll have to try it if I’m ever in the area! xx
