New Forest, Hampshire
I thought I would give everyone a little insight to the place I call home. I have lived in the New Forest for most of my life, it’s a place of pure tranquillity, beautiful landscapes and lots of wildlife [which can often be found roaming the roads]. I am forever grateful for having the beautiful forest, country pubs and roaming horses on my doorstep. How beautiful does the New Forest look in snow?!
The New Forest is a place to visit in Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn it’s always full of vibrant colours & people roaming the countryside enjoying the landscapes and many boutique shops the villages have to offer. You can often find me on country walks in villages suchas; Burley, Lymington, Lyndhurst, Beaulieu and Brockenhurst. Take a look if you fancy an escape to the countryside 🙂
Places to visit in the New Forest
- I used to work at Beaulieu Motor Museum, if you have never been and enjoy all things to do with; Car, Top Gear and Historical Houses and Gardens – – Beaulieu is your place to go! They have many events year round for the whole family to enjoy, my favourite event at Beaulieu is Hot Rod and Customs Day taking place on Sunday 17th June 2018. It’s amazing to see all the customised cars and see them race down Beaulieu Avenue.
- Burley Fudge; For anyone with a sweet tooth like me, you will love the famous Burley Fudge shop. Its all handmade and tastes absolutely delicious!! You can find all varieties and flavours to suit your own taste buds. My personal favourite is the Oreo Fudge..but here is the strawberry which was very yummy!!
- Lyndhurst; Home to the famous Ferrari and Maserati garage… so if you’ve won the lottery, get down to pick your car! Or if you are like me and enjoy dreaming about expensive cars you can drawl over the beautiful, ridiculously expensive fast cars!
Whilst in Lyndhurst you could always take a visit to the lovely Forage Cafe the cakes are amazing ? and such a lovely atmosphere inside. Lyndhurst has a small number of independent eateries and coffee shops, so I am sure one will take your fancy.
One of the main reasons why I love the New Forest and so proud to call it home, is because each village has its own unique character. Whether it be bespoke coffee shops, quirky gift stores or beautiful wildlife roaming the roads you are sure to enjoy which ever village or villages you decide to explore! There are many walks you can take throughout the forest and I am sure you’ll get lost at some point, haha.. Or if you love the outdoors why not visit during summer and camp over at one of the beautiful campsites through the forest?
Why do you love where you live? Have you ever considered taking a big plunge and leaving your hometown behind? I’d love to hear your stories ?
I hope you enjoyed finding out about where I call home and perhaps it’s inspired you to take a visit to the New Forest sometime soon…
